Lake of the Ozarks Dogwood Festival
Come celebrate the beauty of the Flowering Dogwood, our state flower here in Missouri by attending the 62nd Annual Dogwood Festival in Lake of the Ozarks’ Camdenton. Beginning tomorrow, April 19, 2012 and continuing on through the weekend, more than 10,000 people are expected to share in the celebration of this beautiful flower that is in full bloom right now. This year’s theme is “A Wonderful Life”, and that is indeed what it is living here at Lake of the Ozarks.
There is so much to see and do throughout this four day festival that you will never be bored. Visitors to the Lake of the Ozarks Dogwood Festival will enjoy live music, great food, carnival, arts and crafts, an art show, a parade, garage sales and, of course, the beauty pageants that will ultimately crown Miss Dogwood 2012. All entries in the kids’ Shoebox Float Contest will be on display over the course of the weekend. The Camdenton Lions Club will hold their Fish Fry at the Middle School Cafeteria from 4pm to 7pm. The Rotary Club Hog Roast takes place from 11am to 3pm at Beckett Motors (229 E US Hwy 54) on Saturday. Also on Saturday, there will be a 5K Fun Run/Walk from Camdenton School to the Bob Shore Stadium beginning at 7:30am. The Annual Dogwood Golf Classic takes place on Sunday at 1pm. All proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the Band Boosters. Click here for a map of Dogwood Festival actvities and their locations.
