Bridge and Dam Half Marathon 2019
The Bridge and Dam Half Marathon starts off on the Bagnell Dam. Runners pass over the Community Toll Bridge to MM. Once there, the continue along Las Campanas before they head back to Bagnell Dam. If 13.1 miles sounds a bit too daunting of a task, sign up for the 5K or 10K courses. The 10K starts off with the half marathoners. But, it changes direction at the bridge. For 5K run/walkers, the course starts near McDonalds on Bagnell Dam.
Now, if you really want to challenge yourself, you should sign up for Double Down or All In. With Double Down, runners complete a 10K after they finish the half marathon. When you go All In, you end up completing all three courses (for a total of 22.4 miles). The half marathon is a US Track & Field certified course. All participants receive medals. Double Down runners receive two (one for the half and one for the 10K. And, of course, All In runners receive all three medals.
The course can be hilly in some places. While temperatures tend to fall in the mid-60’s during race time, we’ve seen it go as high as the 80’s and as low as 35F, with snow just a few years ago. You never know what may happen. So, check the forecast before you leave and be prepared.
There will be a three and a half hour time limit to complete all three courses. If you decide to walk any portion of the courses, you need to make sure to keep the time limit in mind. Aid stations will be set up every one to two miles. If you want to include your small children in the mix, make sure to use a jogging stroller. Walking strollers are prohibited.
