Laurie Hillbilly BBQ Cook-Off 2019

Teams compete in this Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned cook-off for cash prizes and trophies. So you know they’ll be bringing their “A” game! Plus, all contestants get to sell their BBQ to the public. Yay!
Categories include chicken, pork ribs, beef brisket, pork shoulder or Boston butt, and dessert. The Grand Champion receives $1500. Reserve Champion receives $750. First Reserve receives a $500 cash prize. Top local winner gets a trophy, too.
Make sure you pick up your raffle ticket for a chance at some awesome prizes. First place wins $250 while second place nabs you $100. Other winners receive aprons and other fun prizes.
Your entry fee in this cook-off depends on the size of space you rent. A 20′ x 20′ space costs $170. For the bigger 20′ x 40′ space, you pay $190. Bringing a camper, RV, 5th wheel or pop-up? Pay $210. Simply download and fill out this registration form. Then, mail in your registration and fee (no cash) to the City of Laurie.
Kids Q, Too!
If your child aspires to be a chef, enter them in the Kids Q. It costs just $10 per child. Must be between the ages of 5-15 to enter. Kids ages 5-10 cook up pork chops while ages 11-15 serve up a fine steak. Organizers provide the meat for the kids. First place in each category receives $50 while second earns the winner $25.
