This weekend, we celebrate Labor Day with fireworks all over the lake. Most of the time, this signals the end of summer (even though it doesn’t officially end until September 23rd). With the fall season on the horizon, it seems like the perfect time for a family-friendly event like the Cole Camp Fair 2019.

Cole Camp Fair 2019
From September 5th to September 7th, Downtown Camp Cole turns into a wondrous fairground for locals and visitors. Festivities begin on Thursday, the 5th, with carnival rides from 6 pm to 10 pm. In fact, rides stay open from 6 pm to 10 pm each day. The beer garden opens up to the 21 and older crowd at 8 pm (drink responsibly). Bring a current photo ID with you or run the risk of getting turned away. The first parade of the fair rolls by at 7:30 pm followed by live music on the bandstand.
Exhibits open at 9 am on Friday, the 6th. Play games geared towards the older crowd (“older” as in not a teen anymore) beginning at 10 am. Let your kids join the fun contests catered to them at 1:15 pm. Go to Old Water Tower Park from 1:30 pm to 6 pm for the antique tractor show. Another parade rolls through town at 7 pm, with another one set for 7 pm on Saturday. Enjoy live musical performances on the bandstand after each parade ends. On Friday and Saturday, the beer garden opens at 7 pm as well.
On Saturday morning, watch the kiddie parade at 10 am. Then play fun games in the street. For Saturday only, carnival rides open for an early session from 12 pm to 4 pm before opening back up for the regular 6 pm to 10 pm session. In the afternoon, visit Old Water Tower Park for the car show. Let the kids compete in a pedal pull. And finish it all off with an antique car parade at 7 pm.
Carnival rides require the purchase of a wristband. This grants you access to as many rides as you can fit in within each four-hour session (6 pm to 10 pm daily & the extra 12 pm to 4 pm session on Saturday). Visit Cole Camp Fresh Market, Main Street Mutual or the Hemsoth Brothers Feed Store before 12 pm on September 5th to pick up your wristband at a discount of $20 each. If you wait until the day of, you pay $25 per wristband. In Sedalia, the W-K Collision Center also offers wristbands for sale.
