Camdenton Pumpkin Chunkin Palooza 2019
Fall officially started on Monday. With October just around the corner, our favorite autumn fruit (yes, it’s technically a fruit) takes center stage. Who needs fireworks? Organizers put together one heck of a trebuchet from which to fire these lovely gourds.
This event lasts for eight hours. While flying pumpkins sounds like fun, surely there must be more going on to keep you entertained. Of course! Other fun activities scheduled for the day include face painting, a petting zoo, a climbing wall, and carnival rides. View entries in the pumpkin decorating contest. Decorate your own pumpkin. See who wins the largest pumpkin entry. It’s fun for the entire family!
Pumpkin Chunkin Proceeds Benefit Local Charities
Proceeds from this year’s event benefit four local Lake area charities. Share the Harvest Food Pantry and Food 4 Morgan County both provide nourishment to families in need. Lake Area Industries puts disabled individuals to work by placing them in meaningful positions with employers around the lake. And the West Lake Aquatic Center offers health, education, and social opportunities to all residents of the Lake of the Ozarks region regardless of age, race, financial status or physical limitations.
Make plans with your friends and family to watch some pumpkin chunkin this weekend. You’ll have a blast. And you’ll be helping support our community in several different ways.
