We hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July at the lake this year. Our beautiful Ozark weather means lots of traffic out on the lake right now. Even though Governor Parson lifted all COVID-19 restrictions last month, practicing safe social distancing is still a good idea to curb your chances of getting sick. We can think of no better way to do that than with the Camdenton Kayak Roundup this summer.
What: Camdenton Kayak Roundup – Summer 2020

When: 8:30 am to 12 pm on the 2nd Saturday of the Month through September

Camdenton Kayak Roundup
Whether you kayak regularly or think it might be something you’d like to try, we suggest that you sign up for the kayak roundup at Ha Ha Tonka State Park. The Lake Ozarks Watershed Alliance hosts a free kayak outing on the lake on the second Saturday of the month. Unfortunately, their first two outings in May and June were canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, this month’s outing on July 11th looks like a “go”.
Don’t have a kayak? No problem. The Alliance provides all the gear you need for a day of fun. Their Master Naturalists will be on hand to help guide you out on the water. This also provides the perfect opportunity to test drive a new kayak if you’re in the market for one. Just contact the LOWA to reserve your spot. Must be at least 14 years old to participate.
The last kayak roundup of the season takes place on September 12th. To wrap up the season, the LOWA hosts a potluck after the paddle out. They provide the fried chicken and drinks. They just ask that all participants bring a dish to go with it. It’s just a nice way to end the season and have fun. Keep that in mind when you sign up for the September run.
