Duck. Duck. DROP! It’s time to watch the rubber ducks race at the Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop 2020. Five thousand rubber ducks get dropped from the sky (via helicopter) and from the water (via pontoon) to help raise money for local charities. Have you purchased your duck yet?

Bagnell Dam Duck Drop 2020
The Kids Zone opens at 10 am at the Bagnell Dam. Kids play for free. They even offer food for sale here when you get hungry. Let the kids roam free in the bounce houses. Play games for fun and prizes. Visit the fire department’s dunk tank.
Then, at noon, the ducks fall from the skies and start their race down river. Organizers follow along on their waverunners to spot the top ducks as they race. When one distinctly pulls out ahead of the rest, that duck is declared the winner. The grand prize winner receives $5000. Ten other ducks at the head of the pack win their “owners” some money, too. Winners will be announced in the Kids Zone at 1 pm.
Best Places to Watch the Race
You might feel like the rocky area next to the Kids Zone might be a great place to watch, but it isn’t. You’ll miss all the excitement there. For your best vantage point, find a spot at the Lake Ozark campground. The RV office also provides a good place to watch.
Where Do I Get My Ducks?
To purchase your ducks ahead of time, visit the Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks in Camdenton or Osage Beach (main bank) or go to the customer service center at HyVee. The local Kiwanis Club also sells ducks for the race. You may also contact Katie Royal with the duck drop at (573) 216-9046. Ducks will be available through these avenues until Friday, July 31st. For the procrastinators, your last chance to nab yourself a duck or two will be in the Kids Zone. But your window of opportunity closes at 11 am sharp on August 1st.
